Supergroovers: The Doobie Brothers
The Doobie Brothers sono un gruppo pop statunitense nato negli anni '70. Si formarono nel 1969 e il line-up iniziale era composto da Tom Johnston, chitarrista ed autore dei testi, e da John Hartmann, batterista, come mebri fondatori, a cui si sono affiancati nel tempo altri musicisti come Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, Patrick Simmons, Dave Shogren e soprattutto Michael McDonald, autore delle musiche di gran parte dei loro successi oltre che straordinario cantante. Durante la loro carriera i Doobies hanno vinto un gran numero di Grammy Awards, dischi d'oro e di platino. Tra i loro successi ricordiamo What a Fool Believes, Jesus Is Just Alright, Black Water, China Grove, Listen to the Music e Long Train Runnin'.
