Mod Revival: The Merton Parkas
I Merton Parkas, provenienti dal quartiere di Merton, Londra, furono una mod band composta da: Danny Talbot, chitarra e voce, suo fratello Mick Talbot, tastiere, Neil Hurrell, basso e Simon Smith, Batteria. Firmarono nel 1978 un contratto con l'etichetta indipendente Beggars Banquet e pubblicarono alcuni singoli che ebbero un discreto successo,"You Need Wheels", "Plastic Smile", "Give It To Me Now", "Put Me In The Picture" e un'unico lp "Face In The Crowd" nell'anno successivo. Nel 1980 il gruppo di sciolse e il talentuoso Mick Talbot suonò con i Dexy's Midnight Runners e con i Bureau, fino a raggiungere il successo internazionale nel duo degli Style Council, insieme a Paul Weller. Oggi Mick Talbot è in tour per l'Inghilterra con la band di Candi Staton.
